I know that this was in September but I thought folks might appreciate seeing the best of my photos (I took close to 200) from the day.

The displays started at 11am with a Chinook Helicopter taking the RAF Falcon Parachute Display Team up for a 25 second skydive reaching 120mph before deploying their chutes and falling gracefully back to earth.

The next part of the show was mainly helicopters - not my favourite aircraft so I went for a wander round the static displays.

Being prepared for later was our old friend XH558.

Beside her was her "village" where they had set up FS9 on finals to RAF Bruntingthorpe where the Vulcan resides. A donation to the Vulcan to the Sky Fund ensued - I successfully landed her 3 times and was given my "prize" of a large glossy poster of her.

This Cessna 172 is the only passenger carrying floatplane of its type in Scotland operating a shuttle from Oban to it's airbase on the River Clyde at Glasgow. Her name is Spirit of Scotland and I was particularly taken with her registration. (A dram is a measure of whisky)

On with the flying then and next up was a Czech Saab Gripen.

Cheers mate

This was actually the airshow that made me decide I needed a better camera, these were taken with a Fuji FinePix S5800 but next year I will be taking this

It's a Sony Alpha 200 which came with an 18-70mm lens and I have bought an additional 70-300mm zoom by Sigma to go with her.

Kewl, was hoping it wasn't named G-DRAM for the sake of Dramamine...  :D

Has anyone presented the joke that if you left the gear down on water landing that the pilot yells "G-DRAMmit!"?

Hey, I noticed your from Aberdeen? So am I. Nice photos. I was to head down to Leuchars to watch the airshows, but I was busy that day. Do you know of any future airshows that will be in Scotland in the near future?
