I agree....Hey notice at 4:26 in the Video...It says "British Airways and Air France was the only two operator of Conchord."

What about Braniff International Airways????

They flew it (if only briefly)

By coincidence there was a programme on TV the other night documenting Concorde's last commercial flight. The final clearance and takeoff from JFK was quite emotional - good job I recorded it so I can watch it again!

No "touching" music on the Concorde programme - just 4 rolls royce engines on full power - and with the TV turned up it sounded pretty real - or so the neighbours told me!

ytzpilot,

My brother bought a model of the Branniff Concorde several yrs ago.
It was orange and black. I never saw the Branniff Concorde. the
instructions in the box said the livery was fictional.

Thanks for that Raptor

Actually the Branniff Concorde Paint Scheme was a proposal. Branniff did operate the Concord with Branniff Pilots between Dallas and Washington in 1979. Air France and British Airways took over from Washington to London or Paris.

They were supposed to paint the aircraft used on this route to Branniff but Braniff didn't end up making money in this operation.

But Branniff did operate the Concord on a North America route so that claim that "British Airways and Air France was the only two operator of Conchord." is false.

Braniff never truly operated Concorde, it was more akin to a codeshare agreement today. All Concordes were owned and operated by BA and Air France but used special Braniff crews between Dallas and Washington, then BA/AF crews flew the supersonic sectors. No aircraft was ever painted in a Braniff livery and the "experiment" never really paid off. The same also happened with Singapore Airlines.

So the video is correct. BA/AF were the only two operators of Concorde as they were the only two airlines to buy them and concordes were never "leased" out
