They, of course, have said that before. Let's wait until they actually delivery something before getting excited.

MGH, are you confusing Project Airbus with another company?

Project Airbus has released A METRIC TON of things in the past. (A318, 320, 321, 330... etc. etc)

This is not the same as the as yet released and seemingly dead in the water "Airliner XP (http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=20170)" group who were producing a high fidelity A32x series with the combined assets of Dreamfleet, FlightScenery, and RealityXP. The old website for that company is now DOA. (http://www.airliner-xp.com/ (http://www.airliner-xp.com/))

I loved Project Airbus models - I married them to the PSS A32x panels and had a great experience back in my FS2002/2004 days. I also was looking forward to the Airliner XP plans, but that really just fizzled out. Stéphane Lepage, the brains and talent behind FlightScenery, was on board with that project and he's been an absentee landlord with the FlightZone01 and 02 scenery packages, so I wonder if all of it ties in together.

It's unfortunate that Project Airbus is planning on releasing for FS9, but they say the airplane should be fully compatible with FSX. (just not optimized or able to take advantage of any newer modeling techniques.)

Excellent preview photos. Does this mean I HAVE to get FSX?

The recession has been tough, but I hope that by some miracle Microsoft will start Flight Simulator back up again. These awesome preview screen shots illustrate how determined enthusiasts keep on progressing. If MS doesn't start up again, perhaps Cascade Game Foundry or Aerosoft will come up with a cutting edge flight sim that is next gen compared to FSX.

No I'm not. I quote from the Project Airbus site as of now:

We have, as of today, resumed work on the A380. New previews have been posted on the forum.

My emphasis

Until very recently that site simply said that work had been stopped.

Angels355 - no, not at all!!

From the announcement...
"The A380 will be released for FS9, but similarly to the A320 series, it should be perfectly compatible with FSX."

Thanks very much, I can hardly wait. When it is released perhaps you guys could set off smoke signals, fireworks, air raid sirens, and a public announcement by Homer Simpson so I don't miss it. Do you know I have entirely missed the news of the "Terminator" and "Night at the Museum" sequels? They're on dvd now at Wally World, saw them the day after the Black Friday stampede! I don't want to miss this A380.

For some whacky reason, I can't keep this bird airborne, above 2,000+ feet, it keeps stalling out on me after takeoff. I even dumped half the fuel prior to takeoff, and she'll still stall...What am I doing wrong or overlooking. This is the only heavy i'm having a problem with. :(

By default, the A380 is overweight with full fuel.
Did you edit the payload before takeoff.

I noticed that when it first crashed, so I dumped the fuel to 50%...Maybe I have to add elevator trim to it.
