I am seting up a client computer to run asa. I "think" I have simConnect configured correctly but when I try the AI Traffic program it will not connect. I have tested the shared folders and they have permission to write. The clinet is running xp , the server is running vista 32. They are connected via a d-link wireless router, the server is wired and the clinet is wireless. I have seen threads on here about this before but of course can't find them now.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks Bruce

Double check all the settings again following the networking instructions in the PDF file. It works quite well once you get it set up.

Hi,
Make sure the local IP address of the server is used not your Internet IP address.
Make sure the port being used is on in both firewalls.
Keep trying using the Traffic utility and FSX. Once those work, ASA will probably work.
I'll check back here in a few hours.
Thanks,

I got the AI traffic to work. There was an error in the SimConnect.cfg file.ASA tells me I need simconnect sp1 or sp2 to make it work it work. According to the instructions for ASA I need to remove and reinstall Accelleration. I Removed it ok. When I went to reinstall told me FSX was not there. I check and the FSX.exe file was in fact missing. Seems the uninstall got a little delete happy. I am now doing a repair on FSX,then will do Accelleration then try installing the new simconnect sp1.
Thanks for the help, I will keep you posted.

Bruce,
You didn't need to uninstall anything on the server machine. That is just for a single machine install. For a network install you just need the proper SDKs installed on the client in order to properly install the Simconnect files.

GOT it working. I had to unistall and reinstall accelleration. I tried just updating the SKD but it did not work. The instructions for ASA say you will need to do that if the client machine gives you an sp1 /sp2 missing error. Anyway it is working now, no loss of data or setting and all is good.
Thanks for the help!.
Bruce
Edit: Did a short flight with it this way and works great. FPS is up with the load off the cpu. BTW ASA is a great addon I highly recommend it.
