I'm curious how many times people have had to reinstall their FS since it's been out? Win98, bought it two weeks after it was released...

Once, when I bought a 60GB drive and changed from winME to win2K. FS2k I had to reinstall a couple of times due to errors occuring in the program, but FS2K2 has worked like a charm since day 1.

Four times since I bought it in February, but only because I was doing a complete re-format (don't ask).

None,
Any concerns I have had were due to add-ons. Once the add-ons were removed the problem went away. MOTS (Moral of the story) Keep track of what you are adding.

That's about 25 times less than FS2K had to be re-installed.

I used to (probably still) format every month. And don't ask why! ;-)

Once after I screwed up DirectX 8.0 and multiple times trying to get the aircraft to display properly. Finally accepted the fact that my graphics card stinks and needs to be replaced along with the rest of my 2 1/2 year old, annoying system.

Not at all, and I collect add-ons like a madman. In fact, it was a huge relief to switch to 2k2 Pro after the very crash-prone FS2k. I ordered it pre-release and had my copy before they hit the stores.

1 time...ONLY because I got a 2nd hard drive, and I wanted all my Games/Sims on 1 hard drive, and the rest on the other...if I didnt do that, then I would not have had to reinstall the sim at all.

Let the number of times you have re-installed FS2000 be n.
The number of times you have re-installed FS2002 is zero
Then the number of times less you have re-installed FS2002 is n divided by zero
n
- = undefined
0
number of times less.

Never ever - though I have all kinds of add-ons. I hope I will never have to! IŽd hate to reconfigure it all the way.

Never, an actual reinstall!
I only do "pseudo installs" to correct the registry, whenever I switch systems or OS's (once for WinMe and WinXP). I keep all of my Flight Sims on a separate drive. If a problem occurs with MSFS I just delete the FS2002.cfg file and restart the sim!
