I made the default flight with an aircraft that I subsequently modified. Obviously I made some error.
Now that aircraft won't initialize, and fs9 crashes.
Is there some way that I can change the default flight or get another start up screen so that
fs9 loads normally. Now I am stuck with a version of fs9 that will not load.
Thanks

Hello,
(Under WinXP)
Go there
C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\My documents\Flight Simulator Files
Locate your saved flight and delete the entries (FLT and WX files)

If the other suggestion does not work then go to your FS9.cfg file -
and delete the data which you will find on the situation= line.
That will allow FS2004 to use the original default flight and the sim will start properly.
In case you do not know, the FS9.cfg file is "hidden" by default so be sure to turn on the "search hidden files" option when searching for it.
In XP and assuming a default installation, the FS9.cfg file will be located here:
C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER NAME\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9
Good luck! :)

Another suggestion, and I think the most simple, is just go to the flights folder on FS9 main folder, and select any flight, FS9 will run normal that specific flight, end the flight, and on the main FS9 menu, you could change the default flight.

I deleted the flight and now all is well.
Later, I saw that I had backed up the CFG file on my External Hard Drive, which was only 2 months ago.
I could have substituted this for the corrupted CFG file.
Lessons for me
***********
Always backup the CFG file and the scenery file.
Thanks to you all. My weekend is saved!
