new computer?

hello all. i need a little info. im going to be buying a refurbished net vista 8307 computer on the 3rd of sept. and it says that it has 512mb ram installed. now my question is is has an agp slot. and i have a navidia 7600gs graphics 512 card. will i need more ram for like flying and driving games or is 512mb enough? cause i have 2 1mb ram sticks from another computer.

Definitely need more......I have 3 Gigs of Ram on my PC and a 1 gig XFX nVidia card.....

ohok. now does the added more powerful ram i have plus the bigger powersupply i need to put into it will the stress the mother board? cause the computer im ordering only has a 185 watt power supply. and i have to make an external seeing as it won't fit into the case. the other power supply i have is a 350watt.

I know this thread is old, but I would personally not invest more money into an AGP motherboard. AGP hasn't been the norm for several years since it got replaced by PCI-E.

im not one to argue with ya sir. but for the games i have. excludeing fs9. they require and agp motherboard. i tried these games on a pci board. and it don't work. not sure if i can list the games i have that need agp seeing as how there not flightsim related. lol

Which games would they be? I doubt anyone will get on ya for listing them.

:D ok here goes. i have 18 wheels of steel haulin. monstertruckmadness2. gtr demonstration. not sure what gtr is. f-16mrf. f22 lightning3 doom colletors edtion. and fs9. the first two games the 18 wheels of steel hauling and the gtr demo both need agp.

both of those will work on a PCI-E motherboard/video card. I have gtr, works just fine with pci-e. Mind you im talking about the PCI Express card slot, not the regular old white pci slots. PCI-E Replaced AGP as its faster and supports more bandwidth. Cant think of any game off the top of my head that at one time required an agp card and wont work on a pci-e card. Everything from battlfield 1942 to Medal of Honor allied assault will all work.

No game needs AGP specifically. They may just require a video card in an expansion slot that is faster than the standard PCI slot. At the time those games were released that was AGP. Now it is PCI Express (PCIe). The type of slot being used by the video card is transparent to the game.
