audio(mic) problems

guys, i have a new headset from logitec and the problem is im not able to speak into mic and have someone hear me....ive tried some ways of getting into audio,sounds on start menu but it doesnt have a setting for my type of headset although i dont know if it has to be specified what type it says realteck default audio device i have no jacks in front of my tower but in rear i have normal input and output where i now have my desktop speakers also i have jacks on side of my speaker which seems to work somewhat but is very low so others say...any ideas or help would be appreciated.thanks....James

Did you headset come with a usb adapter? If so, connect using the adapter. Go to Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices. There will be a tab at the top labeled Voice. You will see settings for Voice Playback and Voice Recording. If Logitech is not showing in the drop down menu, choose USB Audio Device for both. Click apply and your good to go. Make sure your sound settings in the sim are the same.
