I'm a little confused. Is there someone here who could help me install the Michigan 2002 Scenery by Jim Bosworth? I know it was designed with experienced simmers in mind, but even though I've been simming since FS98, I don't install much addon scenery. None so far in 2k2 as a matter of fact. I've downloaded all of the proper textures. Now, I just need to know how to install the individual airport updates. Please help!

You probably should wait more than 30 minutes to bump it. It can be considered rude by some....I have no idea how to answer your question, seeing as how I don't have the scenery but if you wait patiently I am willing to bet that one of the resident guru's will answer....just relax, people have jobs, families, kids, civic duties, charity work, so on and so forth....give it a while.... :)
:):):) ****What goes up must come down, no matter how hard or soft.........Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing..... :):):)

I am in the process of installing the Michigan 2002, just haven't gotten around to it yet. If you installed all the required textures into the FS Texture folder, you should be ready to start adding airports. They are listed individually for download and each contains a readme file. I would follow their instructions. Once I get mine installed, I'll let you know how I did it. In the mean time, if you still can't figure it out from the readme files, there is a "Contact" link on his home page, try that and ask him what you are to do. One last thing, on the FS Home Page, there is a "How To" artical on installing scenery addons. Read that and familiarize yourself with the procedures there.
Good Luck, and post back if you get it installed and how you like it :)

I live in Michigan and would like nice scenery. is this for 2002 or is it the old scenery from 98 (I think).
If it is new I would like to know where you got it.
Thanks.

The Michigan scenery seems to require a shareward ap called Nova. Is the scenery good enough to justify paying for it in your opinion? I'm actually just looking for better scenery for Mackinac Island.
Thanks

I didn't have to pay for the Nova textures which are all you need from Nova. As for the Michigan scenery, it was also free.

P.S. Thanks for the tutorial links. They helped a lot!

From the Nova site:
"NOVA is a shareware program, you can download the program and use all features on it for a period of 10 days for free, all functions and features working at 100 %, after this you will need a registration to continue to use the program and its add-ons."

I didn't know those textures were required for this scenery add-on :-( If it's payware, I'm going to think twice about installing it.
BTW - Any idea how much the registration cost is ?

The textures are free! His site is currently down because he's exceeded his bandwidth for the month :-roll, but he provides links to a site where you can download the Nova textures free. The rest is downloadable directly from his site and is freeware. There is no money required!

Thanks for the info !!! :) I was looking forward to seeing my hometown airport fixed up a bit and then I thought I'd cost $$$ (didn't want is THAT bad that I'd pay for it).
Glad you clarified that for us :)
