This has come up in some other threads.
How do you use the forums in flightsim.com effectively? i just get a list of messages about 4 years old. And why did they put the DCboards on flightsimnetwork.com? Why don't they change all the old ones to this format in their 'transition'?
Log on...... read new or recent...
When you're done... MARK ALL.... doing so will make it so they don't show up again unless there's a new post to the thread.
This forum (IMHO) is not as user friendly as fs2k forum where you could choose an option, "personal messages" which brought up ALL replies to any messages you posted. In this particular forum, you have to hunt them down and oftem miss replies if you do a lot of posting...
Oh well.... we're stuck with it...

Actually, I meant the format used for fs98, virtual fly-in, and hangar talk
For example
Message area, read, search by forum number, start 19050, next, next, next, etc
seeing thiusands of old posts one at a time is kinda annoying.

Oh, I'm not sure about the fs98 forum, but the fs2k forum is great. I used to (sigh... USED).. use quick scan and choose personal... this allowed me to get all the messages that replied to something that I wrote.
With this new format, I'm sure there are MANY messages that I never see because there are so GD many... sigh.. LOL
Oh well.. .
