For those running Vista, SP2 has been released for download. It should show up in Windows Update at the end of June.

Are you running it?
No, haven't installed it yet. Sounds like a solid update to Vista though.

I install/reinstall OS's so often that now I have an OS partition and a data partition(s), and lately I've been dual booting w/ 2 independent hdd's w/ OS on each, so that if I don't like an OS or if the OS is messed up (frequent occurrence) I can reformat that partition and start over without touching the data partition. There's risk in everything but I back up and am careful.
Myself I'd be prepared to reinstall from scratch if sp2 doesn't install right. 1, vista, 2, sp1, 3, sp2, 4 updates, 6 video driver. At least that's my method/opinion.
Chicken! ;)
It took a while to install, but everything is running fine so far. Haven't tried FSX or any games yet. No obvious differences yet.

I downloaded and installed SP2 today without problems - 340+ Mb. Microsoft says it includes all the updates since SP1, so I think that would account for much of the size. I have run FSX and some other programs briefly, and all seem fine, but I have not noticed any improvements.
I saw somewhere somebody referring to a program that will clean out unused files after the upgrade, but can't remember where. Anybody have a clue?

Amazing how a little googleing provides all answers. I found that Vista SP2 actually contains an executable file that will remove all the obsolete files.
Go to Start/All Programs/Accessories/Command Prompt
Type in the command Compcln.exe and press "Enter"
You will see a warning that this will permanently install SP1 and SP2 (cannot be removed)
Type "Y" (no quote marks), the file executes in a few seconds.
I think it removed between 2 and 3 Gigabites!

That's amazing, thanks for posting. Let us know if you have any problems.

So did SP1, nothing really new.

Well - it was for me, and maybe for angels 355, and maybe a few others.
My computer seems to run a bit faster, but whether due to getting rid of all the junk, or due to SP2 I have no idea. I have noticed no problems with running FSX or any other programs, and I have done thorough defragging of both harddrives.
