Read several posts about 64bit OS running FSX better than 32bit OS. Bought a new 1T HDD and Vista 64bit OS,installed FSX/ACELL and started moving my aircraft into the new install. When I start FSX and select an (FS9) a/c,I get the "fatal error" message and FSX closes..If I move the panel folder and replace it with an FSX default panel, it loads. My question is why would Vista 32 work with the bitmaps in the panel folder but not Vista 64?..These a/c have been working in my Vista 32bit OS for over 2 years..Thanks for any help and suggestions Lou BMG50

You may need to refresh your C++ library files. When you move to a 64-bit OS, it usually comes with the 64-bit redistributable files. You may need to have the 32's on board as well in order to get various gauges functional again. I encountered this problem with the Flight1 ATR... it CTD'ed on me whenever I launched it.

Grab and install both of these two files...

32-Bit (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a5c84275-3b97-4ab7-a40d-3802b2af5fc2&displaylang=en) and 64-Bit (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=BA9257CA-337F-4B40-8C14-157CFDFFEE4E&displaylang=en)

These should refresh what is on your machine, and installing both libraries will ensure you have all the needed library files to make some gauges work properly.

Good luck - let us know if it works!

The following Microsoft link addresses some of the problems. Se particularly the section on Compatibility of 32-Bit Applications on 64-Bit Platforms
