Hi all,

I've been having an annoying ATC problem for a while now. If ever I turn off auto open for the ATC window then after a few communications the window appears blank and I can't respond to ATC commands and lose IFR clearance. I thus have had to fly with the window popping up everytime ATC contacts me which in my opinion is less realistic. This is a major BUG in FSX! I have picked up a thread on this issue but not a very good response. Is there a fix for this anywhere other than get some PAYWARE addon? Thanks!

Try closing the ATC window and manually changing the radio to a different frequency. Open the ATC window back up and it should no longer be blank. This works for me.

Hi,

I did not find a fix to this problem but a way around it. :D Simply do this. When the window goes blank keep it open and switch the frequency either by flipping to the standby frequency (doesn't matter what it's tuned to) or by switching to radio 2 by clicking the com 2 button on the audio panel. This way the active frequency will be lost and the window will now show [Tune New York Center on 118.05] or whatever. Then switch back to the previous or correct frequency by flipping the standby frequency again or switching back to radio 1 by clicking the Com 1 button again. You will now have text in the window again. It will not be a permanent fix however. In a flight it may happen 2 or 3 times but it only takes a second to get it back again.

Hopes this is clear.

Happy flying.
