A basic, but maybe not so basic, question:

How do I do to have the speedbrakes just opened partially, as in real life, while descending in initial approach?
Of course, I use spoilers once landed, and the spoiler opens completely. But during descent, I would like to use the spoilers but just slightly. It seems that in 3D panel, you can adjust the percentage of spoilers, but it does not show on the aircraft while in spot view.
Any tricks?
Many thanks

Shift / sets auto spoilers at 1/4 which then open fully on runway contact, but I am unsure if that gives you partial spoilers for braking effect during descent.

that is true, Shift + / "arms" the speedbrake, it doesnt provide actual braking in air, try pulling the lever (in VC or in 2D panel) and see what happens to your airspeed while flying, the model may just not support a partially deployed spoiler animation;)

The only way I know to deploy spoilers other than full is to set them to an axis, rather than a button or key. My Saitek X-36 has two rotary thumbwheels and I have one set to spoilers -- works fine, giving me excellent variable control.
