I'm upgrading from an Intel Core 2 Duo 6600 to an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield.
My specs are:

ASUS P5W DH Deluxe motherboard/w Core 2 Duo 6600
2 GB Ram
Radeon HD 3850 PCI Express 512 MB Video Card
Onboard sound
Windows XP Home/w SP2

I was wondering if upgrading to Windows XP Pro 64 bit would utilize the 4 cores or should I wait for Windows 10? I'm a little afraid of Windows Vista.

Windows XP Home will use 4 cores in one processor just fine. It just doesn't support more than one physical processor.

With SP1 and much better support from third parties, Vista runs quite well on modern systems. I've been running the 64 bit version for about a year now with no troubles.

Thanks Loki. I'll take a look at Vista 64 Bit and check the pricing. If I have any questions I'll come back and post it on his thread.
