View Full Version : ~ Into Aspen, Colorado ~ ... night landing in the Flight1 Mustang
01-13-2009, 09:06 PM
Have said this before & will say it again, as quoted in aviation circles:
Anyone offers to fly you into Aspen some day, politely decline.
If they offer to fly you into Aspen at night, impolitely decline.
Climbing out of KCDR, Chadron while banking towards KBFF, Scottsbluff.
Scottsbluff/Gering, banking towards Ft. Collins.
Cheyenne off the starboard side.
VC, front range of the Rockies.
Passenger looking down to Loveland.
Nice evening to fly. Yeah, kinda late getting the nav lights on.
Man, this plane is wonderful.
Banking towards KASE, Aspen... going in the hard way (my way).
Heh heh heh... love doing this. Never gets old.

Interesting looking building over there.
Looking pretty good so far.
Beautiful rendition in FS, imo.
Dropped a leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetle bit low, no biggie.
Rolling out. Almost never have to use the brakes, landing speed is so slow compared to most small jets.
Turning off runway, kicking up a little snow.
How'z'bout we go skiing in the morning? Cross country for me, downhill for you if you'd prefer.

Looks like a real challenge doing that at night in the snow! Great shots. :)

Thankee, my friends. :) Nice response thus far for a night flight. Kind of hard to see the shots unless the white sides of the posts are blocked.
The landing went very well, taking her in on 15, wind from 124 variable 6 to 9 knots with some of that good ole' mild turbulance thrown in.
Nice shots :-)
And this is what it looks like IRL

CoNa- Amazing video infared/standard side-by-side clip, thanks. Loving it.
Simon- 'Preciate the favorable response, my friend. Good to see you here now.
Bert- You know, after many dozens of times in 4 different sims, it nearly is a cakewalk now. :) Mighty fun still, admitedly.
Asad- Thank you, young man. Conversely, am loving your Nepalese post, as well.
Marvin- Pleased you like them too. Thanks for taking a peek.
Gary- Thanks, Mr. Huey Chief. http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/cool/cool-smiley-021.gif Glad you had a look-see & left a comment, bud.
Florian- Your first 7 words could be the outset of a new book, man. :D Happy you stopped by.
Jan- "love bird and shots" Cousin, am aware you are Dutch, but it sounds as if you are telling me what to do! :o http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/lachen/laughing-smiley-001.gif Heh heh heh... thankee, my friend.
Jared- The VC? ~Stylin'~ You can even feel the leather on the yoke, man...
Am having no regrets about investing in this no-compromising simulation.
As said before & will say again & again: Flight1 does it right. http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/verkleidung/costumed-smiley-011.gif Besides, how
in the wide, wide world of sports can yoiu beat their 30 day money-back guarantee?

Ouch. That VC makes the prospect of FSX, albeit at 18-20 fps, so much more enticing.

IMagine standing on that mountain/hill seeing that mustang buzz over your head :P, Great shots, looks like a fun bird to fly.

David that was excellent flying and some great shots. I appreciate those who post night shots as that is part of flying.
The last time I tried a night time landing in the mountains the ATC kept directing me into a mountain.
