What are you computer specs? Have you installed Vista's sp1? And fsx sp1 and sp2? Have you updated the video card driver?

There seems to be a lot of people having this problem:
with IE7:
http://www.google.com/search?q=AppHangB1&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
The IE7 cure seems to be to disable addons in IE7.
And with FSX:
http://www.google.com/search?q=fsx%3A+AppHangB1&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
One person with Fsdiscover and FSX found that there is an update for Fsdiscover that takes care of the problem.

It sounds like this is a common problem:

Microsoft.com:

Here is one suggestion:

I'm sorry I would look more closely but it's been a long day and having a hard time staying awake...zzzz
If anyone has found the solution to this problem let us know. Your computer specs are great, it's a very capable computer.

Sorry I couldn't be more help. This looks like a common problem that needs a patch, I wonder if Microsoft has responded to this problem?

If you are still having problems, consider backing up your data, then erase the hard drive and do a complete reinstall from scratch.
