View Full Version : Is there a smart way to find refuel locations at airports?

Hi ladies,

Yeah I know fuel areas are bordered in yellow....IF, (big "IF") you can find them!

Is there an easier way to locate the refueling areas without having to "slew" around the (big) airports? I'm thinking maybe I am missing something since it ruins the simulation experience to have to try and scout out the yellow fuel box all the time.

I do a "look down" view but that takes a lot of trial and error distance switching and slewing also to get the right look down view of the airport.

You can select the "top" view from the View Menu, zoom out a little and see the fuel pad.

Or, of you're using FSNavigator, you can zoom in close on that airport and see the fuel pad as indicated by a bright orange box.

Gee. When I want to refuel, I just hit alt/aircraft/fuel and put everything on 100%. Is there another way to refuel?

But heh, if he wants to use the fuel pad...

Oh, yes if park in the yellow outlined box with the "F" in it, it refills your tanks.

I found that little airports with no NDB's,VOR's,DME's etc. (ones apart from busy airways) don't have the refeuling depots. Just assume there is feul you can siphon from someone else and use refuel through the menu options :-)

Some small airports actually have no refueling capabilities.

When a seaplane flies between two harbours in some banana republic, I assume a leaky fishy boat chugs out carrying drums of fuel to fill it up, right? I'm just asking because it's no fun flying a seaplane around the world if I'm landing at proper airports all the time because I need to refuel.

(I'll 'simulate' the boat delivery by alt-menu-fuel 100%ing)
