Hello. I bought me a pair of pedals for adding some more realism to the game feeling.
Ive never piloted real life aircraft, so first i would like to know, is the rudder supposed to mantain its position once the pedals are relesed, or is it supposed to reset back to the center?

If the rudder is supposed to auto center back once you release the pedal, how can I configure flight sim X to do this? because when I hit the pedals and the rudder turns, say left, and then i release the pedals the rudder stays in that position, which pisses me off because i have to press the other pedal (say right) until the rudder is centered again, and since i cant watch the tail of the aircraft while im flying, I usually cant leave it 100% centered. This relly gets on my nerves, because the plane starts to yaw.

Can the rudder be configured to center back? How do I do this?

first, at the risk of being a prude, your choice of language to describe your anger is a bit over the top. as for your rudder problem, pedals should center naturally. go into calibration and see if that fixes it...

To answer part of the question, in a real aircraft, the slip stream will force the rudder to center unless you are holding input. The centering springs simulate this phenomenon.

Helicopters are different, as the peddels just control the counter rotation produced by the spinning main roter. Peddel inputs are generally constant and unrelated to the direction of flight.

Try calibration as stated by Sherm. If that does not fix the problem, you may have a bad set of peddels. Are they CH products or Saitek?
