This is a great little program, making the sim even more life-like, if only I could get it to work. Fine, adding parking spots, and moving existing ones, where they are inappropriate That is until I try to use them. Sim starts ok and the additional stands are there (witness the additional aircraft) until their appointed departure time arrives. The aircraft on those stand just - DISAPPEAR. Doesn't matter which aircraft or which stands. This doesn't happen with existing stands, however, even if I've moved them.

Anyone experienced this, and do you know the answer?

And I've followed the instruction to the letter. And they are default airports, not add-ons. I've tried 3 airports, Cardiff, Bristol and Manchester.

This sounds like an ai problem, not an AFCAD one. Are they trying to taxi to locations not linked up properly? Make sure all your nodes are connected properly (zoom right in on them and recheck). I've modified about a dozen airports now with new and moved gates, and not come across the disappearing aircraft syndrome (......yet).

As Al says, a missing connection can cause weird problems. I've had a couple of connections that I thought were complete, but zooming WAY in showed there was a slight gap. The other possibility is that you didn't put connectors from your new parking spaces to the taxiways.

I had the same problem, resolved it by designating the connectors as taxiways and giving them the next letter/number in sequence.
Hope this helps,
Ken
BTW this was at Newcastle(EGNT)

Thanks for the replies but I just can't see how EVERY one of my connectors has not connected correctly. As I siad, it doesn't happen to the defaul gates even though I have, for example, removed the "small" gate and replaced it with a "medium", or moved the gate because it's position is not correct.

I used a number of different aircraft but the disappearing act always occured on the same gates, so it can't be the aircraft.

Still, always prepared to try anything once, so I'll revisit a few and take up some of the suggestions offered.

Thanks.

Allan,

I'm willing to try and help, but I would need you to export the airport you are having problems with using Add A Gate, so that I can import into my bgl files. I'm sure it's something simple but I'll need to 'take a look for myself' before I can make suggestions.

if you decided to go this route, email the exported .dat file to my email address. my email address is located on the last line of the Add A Gate readme.txt file.

John, many thanks for th ofer. I'll sort out add a gate and your e-mail address, work out how to export, and you'll get my file. Hope you can solve it for me because these new gates will save me a tremendous amount of work.

Up to now, because the default system limits the traffic is a sense, every time I install a flight plan that would have the aircraft parked out overnight, say, I would need to fly it somewhere else and bring it back in the morning.

Thanks for the offer of help, again, John. catch you soon

John, I can't find ADD A GATE. If it's a zip file what's it's correct name. Otherwise please e-mail me at acro103010@aol.com, with your e-mail address.

Many thanks.
