View Full Version : Update on Autopilot (and its weirdness)

Whilst flying online under FSHost the a/p on the 737 ALWAYS at some point decides to ignore the altitude set. It might be on descent; it might be on climb, but it always does.

Happens off-line too (as those who have been following my antics know) but not as often...see? We're narrowing it down.

I have incidentally pretty much decided to get the Level-D767 unless someone can suggest an alternative.

The Level-D 767 is arguably the finest affordable addon aircraft ever made.

And my educated guess is that it doesn't use any of the FS built-in autopilot logic so it just might (repeat might) shed some light on what is going on with your system.

Thanks again Mike - I have (as you can see below) a 64 bit system with SPs 1&2, do you think there will be any issues with the 767 on FSX?

EDIT: Having looked just, it looks like the 767 is very well supported. I think I will go and buy the download version and take the plunge...

You won't be disappointed, but do take the time to at least skim the manual and fly the tutorial flight(s) a few times to familiarise yourself with the aircraft systems.
The complexity of the product can be daunting to people, even to experienced simmers.

The latest version runs fine on FSX SP2. I can't say anything about Vista 64 however, you'd have to ask in the LevelD pre-sales support forum.

Hi

I have just bought it actually, and downloaded some nice repaints from the Level D site. I'm also lucky enough to belong to a local Flight Sim club and there are a few members there who are only too willing to give advice and tutorials one-to-one so I won't be flying blind.

Thanks again - my first 'proper' airliner!
