I have two issues with the sound in my FSX. They may or may not be related to one another, I don't know but would really like to resolve them.
The first is that the music does not start until I select something, be it change aircraft or select settings, etc., then the music starts. Secondly and related to this, about 3 seconds into the start of the music, momentarily, a womens voice in what sounds like German comes on for a couple of seconds.Last night I did a repair to FSX and FSX Acceleration, however that did not correct the problems. Can anyone offer some advice? Thanks

worldsfair,

Since nobody else has posted to this thread I will try to help. However, I know very little about sound-related stuff so you'll have to forgive me if we don't get anyplace.

That said, what do you mean by "the music does not start"? What music are we talking about here?

The music I'm referring to it the Theme music that you can either delect of de-select to play at the opening screen on FSX, there are 8 potential versions you can select from. I have looked everywhere to try and locate a "wav." file that has a German womens voice that plays for several seconds at the opening screen, can't locate it. Thank you.

I regret it but I'm not able to help ...

All I can do is offer an informed guess as follows: It's theoretically possible that the sound files are actually incorporated into the FSX executable itself as one or more "statically linked" software modules. This would be consistent with your not being able to find a relevant .wav file.

Sorry I can't help,

Thank you a least for attempting to help. It apears not too many folks are familiar with how to address these files to correct problems. I appreciated your response, thank you.
