I’m having problems with FS2004. I hope someone can help me.

Problem 1
Sometimes I’m no getting DME readings from ILS or VOR.

Problem 2
I can’t set the engines to idle using the level in my joystick. I use the F1 key and the engine goes to idle but after a few seconds it goes up again (about 30% power), if use F1 key again the engines go to idle but after a few seconds they go up again.

Thank you very much

amb afterburner,

Regarding ILS/VOR, it may be that you are flying at too low an altitude to pick up the signals. It may also be that you are simply out of range of the facilities.

As for the joystick/power issue, try calibrating the joystick and let us know what happens. Also, if you're using a manufacturer driver but Windows knows about the device, I would try the built-in Windows service just to see what happens.

I hope this helps,

Some ILS and VOR transmitters do not have a DME co-located at the facility.

For an ILS, there is often another VOR on the field you will tune to for DME information. Your charts will have this information.

'afterburner' ---- like you I have trouble with DME. At the moment I can receive DME1 OK but Nav 2 tuned to the same VOR dont show DME2 !!(in some aircraft). So we're at a good height and within range of the VOR.

I've tried swopping working gauges but they dont work in the new aircraft.

'Eggheads' is there something in the panel.cfg , Air file or Aircraft.cfg that might cause these distressing events??.

regards, Roger Roger.
