 I just don't know how to complete the mission. I leave the Aircraft carrier, fly to launch area, stay within 2 mile radius, catch cessina and move to his right wing and rock F18's wings back and forth and then try to get him to follow me to land. BUT he will never follow me. And then time runs out. Any help.

You may think you've got his attention, but the indicator is when you receive instructions about what to do next.

What was the last instruction you heard?

Hummmm I can't recall ever hearing any instructions. May be that is my problem. I'll go and give it a try and see. Thanks

I have problems with this one too. I don't know how to do it without the time running out!

First, let me say that knowing how to control your aircraft is essential. Second, you will receive instructions for everything you need to do. If you think something is supposed to happen (but it isn't) then you haven't completed your last task.

It's fairly straightforward to fly out in formation, then establish the perimeter of 5nm/10,000. As you monitor the frequency, you'll hear an aircraft request termination of flight following (I think that's it). So you begin (correctly) to anticipate that you'll be intercepting that aircraft. Do you get that instruction? When you do, you'll be told how. Make sure to intercept the correct aircraft the way you are told (i.e. you do not just zoom by), and you'll receive the next instruction. There will be a total of three instructions after the interception.

Post back how it goes, and if you need any other tips.

I screwed this up several times myself before getting it right. The instructions don't exactly help much. I found I could do it the quickest by flying by as close and as slow as I could (with autoflaps on) a bunch of times (then going into full burner to get around behind it again) until I was instructed to land. Then, I landed and everything worked out. The first time I couldn't even find the cessna.

This must be a case of multiple endings, as I have never been instructed to land. I eventually watch the launch from 10,000.

BTW, I believe the mission pointer will direct you to your target aircraft, although I prefer to located it without using the pointer.

Hooah I made it. To help with time I dove to 1'000 feet right off and reduced speed to175. I use cockpit open view to help me first find the cessna (thats f10) then after I got leveled off and getting close to him I went to f11 view or third person view. I did'nt have to fly right beside his left wing either, I just eased by and rocked the wings and passed right on by him. Then the other instructions came about lowering the landing gear to let him know to land. The cessna then came on the radio and said he would land. Man am I happy. Thanks "ALEXM". This map has really taught me some bad words. :)

I can't tell if we're getting different endings or not.

I fly this entirely from the VC... much more fun (for me, anyway) that way. I have to do T&G to inform him to land, then observe to ensure he actually lands, then bug out.

Did you observe the launch? Pretty cool, actually.

I've never purchased the latest addition to FSX.
Sounds like I'm missing some fun.
How many additional missions are there?

I think there are 37 additional missions. Plus, you get three great new aircraft: F/A-18A Hornet, P-51D Mustang, and EH-101 helicopter. Something for just about everyone, if you ask me.

I bought it at Circuit City when it first came out. Cost me $14.99 USD. Best bang-for-the-buck add-on ever, IMO.
