Hey Everyone...
This week in school we are covering aircraft presurisation systems. In one of the handouts it talked about the oxygen masks automaticaly deploying from self contained aneroids to sense a cabin Altitude of more then 10, 500' Pressure Altitude.

Im sure this would vary from aircraft to aircraft,
but,
When aircraft land in airports at high elevation, such as La Paz Bolivia (AProx 13, 000 ft, Some of you may remember from back in the old Virtual Fly in days )

How do they prevent the Oxygen Masks from deploying
when they open the door?

They stop the system from activating by simply flicking a switch which turns off the automatic deployment.

That's what i thought at first, I disable switch, but they way the system was described to me. (Automatic mask deployment) It sounded like they woudln't be able to have a switch to turn it off.
But anyways I did some google searching and found this same topic / discussion on another message board....
