Hey guys I will never use material without asking so here goes. We are opening a mission building and film making site real soon. On the site are a Gallery for artwork and a screenshot library which we hope to continue indefinitely.. In that section is an album for civilian and military aircraft. We would love to showcase some of your work. If we can use it please just let me know . I will be posting the link here as soon as its up and running. We also have a 3d viewer in the gallery which makes shots really stand out. Hope some of you guys will offer your work. Jim Dean.:)

Thanks Larry the problem is as I said it isnt up yet. There are some great shots in the threads right here. What I could use is just some guys saying I am welcome to use anything they have posted. Nothing will be altered and their credits added. They could let me know if they want their screen name.real name or both in the credits. Thanks again. Jim Dean.

jamesdean007,

Is yours a commercial site?

Hey Mike, No this site is not commercial other than it will have a store for hardware and software. Having said that I dont mind if anyone wishes to advertise their services if they fit in the fields the site is aimed at. Or maybe you meant am I intending to gain commercially from others allowing me to post their work. The answer to that would be a definate no. Thanks Jim.:)

jamesdean007,

I guess my feeling is that having a site that has a store, and using screenshots to encourage people to visit that site, and discussing all that here, consititutes unpaid advertising, which is usually viewed as in conflict with the goals of the FlightSim.com forums.

However, I don't speak for FlightSim.com, so why don't you try the following. Webmaster Nels Anderson is always happy to run news items and press releases for even commercial websites like yours. How about you send him a press release telling the world what you're trying to accomplish and inviting screenshot submissions.

I've been watching this thread since it's inception, and I'm still not clear what your site is all about. Do you plan to lift screenshot images from this site and upload them to your site? If so, I don't think that would be a good idea. It seems that a better idea would be to get your site up and running, submit the URL to the major search engines, etc., and build your membership that way.

From what I've seen in this thread, there are some who wish to not have their images uploaded elsewhere. What guarantees are there to insure that these wishes are respected?

As was suggested earlier, you should contact Nels, the owner of this site, and explain your intentions.

So, until Nels responds to you and us, I'm going to lock this thread and let it drift off into cyberspace.
