Hello,
I'm going through those newbie growing pains. Just started FSX and love it. Bought FSX for Pilots Real World Training based on all the positive reviews but I'm having trouble getting the training files downloaded and accessible on FSX.
I have Windows Vista and the download instructions in the book are for Windows XP.
Not sure whether its my trial version of winzip (I did not register), Windows Vista or just my doing a no-brainer.
Any info would be appreciated.

No Problem,
I did a quick search in the front and back parts of the book and I saw no mention of the book being compatible with earlier versions. The authors of the book can supposedly be reached at www.vanwestco.com/aviation.
Go to amazon.com and put in the title: "Microsoft Flight Simulator for Pilots Real World Training" and you'll see an impressive amount of positive reviews for the book. I'm the kind of person who likes to learn with multiple resources and this certainly looks like a good one. Check it out next time you pass close to your local Borders Books and Music or Barnes and Noble. (It's 700 pages) The files that I'm trying to download go along with practice examples and scenarios throughout the book.
I've downloaded and uzipped files before, but this is turning out to be a frustrating one....

Just wanted to say thanks to any and all who were trying to help out on my file download problem. I haven't used winzip in quite a while and finally changed from the classic to wizard interface. From there I unzipped, copied and pasted the files into the correct location.
Once again thanks to all who spent any time on this. It was my rustiness with winzip that was the problem.
And now I'm opening up my first file for chapter 2...Gonna fly my piper cub in beautiful Vermont...
Why didn't I ever fly before???
