Hi all,
I'm looking into a buying a new computer, hopefully sometime within the next year. Anyway, I was wondering what everyone recommends in the way of RAM, Processor Speed, Sound/Video Cards, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Tim Kotula

P.S. - I've already decided that I want an AMD processor.

Get:

1. The fastest processor you can afford
2. As much RAM as you can afford (ideally DDR 256-512Mb)
3. Good GeForce card, the best you can afford
4. A big Hard Drive, at least 40-60Gb
5. As big a monitor as you can afford, 17"-19"
6. A yoke and pedals if you don't already have them
7. CD-R drive for backups and archiving.
8. Win98SE or WinMe as the OS. I have questions on the compatability of WinXP.

Lots of money. I can get this spec PC in the UK for around 1200 UKP + tax, but its almost certainly cheaper in the US. If you can build it yourself it will be cheaper still, but you can't guarentee compatability, wheras a GOOD manufacturer will, and will give you a 2-3 year guarentee to prove it.

My next UK PC will almost certainly come from Evesham.com
You can check their site here:
