I'm facing a problem I can't understand:
Near the lovely coast of southern brittany (france) is a small island a couple of miles offshore.
I try to design from scratch a small private terrain on this island, just a grass strip and a few scenery objects for a start.
But for an unknown reason FSX crashes to desktop if:
- I try to start from my new airport
- or at a certain distance from it when I fly towards it.

I have tried 2 different SW to compile my airport: ADE, then FSXplanner, and in both cases the result is the same, a crash.

I've eliminated nearly everything to keep as simple as possible in order to detect the cause of this malfunction, but without success.

Why am I unable to add my fictional strip on this existing island?

Start from the basics and work up to see what's causing the problem. Delete the airport file, along with any buildings, etc. Try to fly over and around your land area. If successful, add back just the airport. Try again. If OK, add back the additional scenery stuff, little by little until you find what's causing the crash.

Thx but already I did it of course, read my post. But it doesn't help.
The problem seems to be not related to the objects I put in my scene, even adding an airport identifier into this area cause the crash as soon as I fly nearby.

I had the same problem in FS9 - I started a new airport and wanted to see my progress but it would always CTD. I eventually worked out that it was because i had somehow managed to forget that most airports have runways (oops...). Just check the airport file in both the programs to see if there are any faults - more often than not it will be something that you have overlooked.
Hope this helps.
