Hey all, got a little problem with panning in the VC on FSX. I use a Saitek X52 hat switch for my pan view, which worked great for a while, until recently. It's strange, it will pan to the left and right perfectly fine, but when I try to look up or down, it'll pan up or down a tiny bit then snap back to forward facing view, but again, left and right work perfectly fine. Is it a setting that I'm missing in the controls or is there a bug?

EDIT: Tried this out a bit further, and it does the same in spot view, too, not just VC.

This is likely a setting in Saitek X52 stick , check if the middle position of your hat switch has the forward view programmed into it , if so remove.

Also in CH sticks you have a press button command and a release command setting , so when you press to view left it will stay there to you release button and then it will snap back to forward view.

This may also be what your Saitek X52 is set to do.

Sorry for the outdated post, but this problem came back again. And Mel, that sounds right, but it wouldn't explain why the left and right panning still work just fine. Ideas?

EDIT: I've noticed that the camera keeps bouncing around when it's still, almost like what Mel said where it's constantly trying to reset to forward view, but I don't have anything programmed to reset view forward. I'm pretty sure no one knows how to fix this, but I've tried everything and it's really bugging the heck out of me. Any help greatly appreciated.

Which Joy stick do you have? And what model.

Saitek X52 non-pro version, like it says in the previous posts. Luckily though, now I've narrowed it down to the fact that it is the joystick. I disabled it and the camera worked fine, but as soon as I enabled it, the camera acted up again. I still can't figure it out, though. Sorry for bugging you guys again:D
