I don't know how far I'll get, but I plan to fly to as many places as I can with my goal being to always land safely, and to always take off from where I've landed before. Also, all done in real time (no slewing or time compression, I don't even know how to use them or care) and with real world weather......
I started out in New Orleans, where I live. Not much scenery for this area, only thing enhancing the default scenery here is Ultimate Terrain:
After taking off from Armstrong International, heading generally Easterly, you can see here the city between the river and lake, which is much to it's detrement during hurricanes:

This is the causeway bridge which goes across Lake Pontchartrain:

To the right is the Huey P Long Bridge:

Getting closer to the city:

The Superdome:

Lining up at the Lakefront Airport:

Coming in for a landing on this short sight seeing flight:

stay tuned....more to come including megascenery and some other freeware photosceneries (I've made it to Kansas so far going through texas and oklahoma).

Thanks Vortiz.....here is the second leg of my journey, a slightly longer flight, this time from the lakefront, back past New Orleans, to the city of Thibodaux.

Yeah, the idea was to start from home and explore from there using as many of the new fangled sceneries for FSX as are within my means.
My ability to point out specific landmarks will certainly diminish as I get farther from home :)
Thanks for checking out the shots.

I could tell you knew that area way well. Have to use that philosophy myself and get myself to fly GA around LA in increasingly wider circles.

Thanks Smutley :)
My next leg was from Thibodaux to Lake Charles Louisiana. These flights are over the wetlands of South Louisiana, and may not be the most spectacular scenery, but UT does make them more insteresting with the more accurate coastlines and such. Don't worry, things get more interesting when I get to Dallas (megascenery) and Colorado (bluesky photoscenery) then Las Vegas (another megascenery) and so on.... but I want to fly to every place from one point to the next and not just put my plane there in the flight planner.....so here ya go, Louisiana Wetlands:

Thanks for the comments.... and yes, I am having a ball, probably the best fun I've had with Flight Sim in a long time!
Next flight was from Houston to Dallas. When I got to Dallas, I flew around and explored the scenery a bit (megascenery X):

You may notice that my view changed a ways into this. I bought an extra LCD screen, and here's a "screenshot" of the new rig I'm using....this is why you don't see my gauges in the VC view screenshots anymore :)

that joystick make helos easier to fly?
I can't say vortiz, cause I don't fly helos much. I'm mostly into GA airplanes.
EDIT: I can only imagine that the highly accurate, hands on throttle would help with helos....Other than that, I'm out of my area of expertise.

Okay, I'm back from Pittsburgh. The flights were a little rough, but I still saw some really cool "scenery" heh. Got a really good look inside the glass cockpit of one of the regional jets we flew on too.
Here's the next leg of my virtual journey, from Oklahoma City to Topeka, Kansas. After arriving in Topeka, I took off in my favorite sight seeing plane (the Maule Orion) for a brief local tour.

The next thing I did was to fly clear across Kansas to get to Colorado. Kansas is pretty flat and boring, so I did some evening/night flying to make it more interesting:

I'm doing something similar right now, except I'm touring North America only - started in Toronto, down eastern seaboard to Florida, then Bahamas, Haiti, Cuba, Mexico and then up to Texas and currently I'm in New Mexico. Next, West Coast all the way up to British Columbia and then across Canada home to Toronto. Really enjoying it, flying with VATSIM makes it more challenging (have to read up on charts before the flight).
Do you always fly the same aircraft across cities? I fly my Piper Cheyenne across and then jump into Cessna or Mooney to do some sightseeing around the area and then always back into Piper for the next leg..

In the picture labeled "The Superdome:" you have exceeded Vne.
Used to fly into and around New Orleans a lot after the hurricanes, and it was quite a sight (and smell.)

Yeah, on my first flight the flying was really bad.
I didn't have my screenshot button mapped to a good place, and I was flying very crazy.
If you notice, in the rest of the pics after that first flight, the intstruments are much more calm and peaceful.
Thanks for looking :)

My next leg took me from Central Colarado Regional, to Telluride (the highest commercial airport in the US). I have the freeware Bluesky Scenery for this area, which, while sampled at FS4 resolution, is still quite beautiful and a huge leap over the default:
