I was wondering if anyone could help me. I just purchase a PNY Geforce 4 Ti 4400 and was quite excited until I got home, installed it and found that I wasn't getting any better framerates than I did with my Voodoo3. Does anyone have any tips or solutions on how I can get this baby to scream like the specs and advertisements say it should?? I've tried many different display combinations and it seems the most I can get is 12-15fps on the ground at Meigs.

System config:

Asus K7V (just downloaded all latest drivers)
Athlon 700
448MB SDRAM
PNY Geforce4 Ti 4400

I've tested using Max Payne and that works fine (very fluid, no skipping although I don't know how to view the framerates)but fine nevertheless.

Any help would be appreciated. I almost feel let down, like I shoulda put the money on a new board and processor for what it's worth. :-jumpy

LAST EDITED ON Apr-12-02 AT 05:32PM (EDT)[p]The problem is your athlon 700 processor. The graphics card can't do the work of the processor; especially on a processor-intensive game like Flight Simulator. The processor is holding your card back. You need a faster processor to see better performance with this sim. You will definetely see an improvement in non-processor intensive games, however.

Also on the positive side, with the Ti 4400 you now have multiple monitor capability, and a graphics card that should last you for quite a while, for when you do decide to upgrade.

If you decide to return the Ti 4400 and upgrade your system instead, get a Geforce 3 Ti200. Where money is an issue, this card gives the best performance for the price.

Take care,
Pacman

Thanks Pacman. It's a really nice video card so I think I'll hold on to it, especially seeing that I'll probably want it again later.
