Real-world pilot needs to clear out my closet so I can afford to pay these higher Avgas prices!
SYSTEM: (Only dedicated sim-related software installed, nothing else)
AMD Athlon 64 4000+ "San Diego"
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe socket 939
ATI Radeon 850XT 256mb PCI-Express
Soundblaster Audigy 5.1/7.1 surround
2 gigs Kingston Hyper DDR2 RAM
2 - 250GB SATA RAID 7200RPM/16mb cache hard drives - partitioned specially for FS9
Windows XP SP2 , registered & all current - system has been trimmed to run only software essential to FS.
Antec case with upgraded power supply and cooling fans w/ duct (black case w/ blue LEDS)
Lots of USB 2.0's on front and back.
SPDIF surround system amp with powered subwoofer.
CH Products Yoke and Rudder Pedals
SIM: (All software has been upgraded to the very latest versions!)
FS9.1 - that's where the "stock software" ends.
Active Sky V6.5
Ultimate Terrain USA
BEV (ALL 5 seasons)
FSGenesis USA Mesh (gigs and gigs of data)
American Data Roads, Railroads, Streams
FSHotSeat AI Blast (Provides very realistic AI aircraft sounds - many of the .wav files were added by me to make each plane sound like it really does)
Numerous upgrades to textures - from night lights to runways to buildings and roads.
Literally hundreds of free and payware airport and scenery upgrades, AFCAD, RWY12, EZ Scenery - lots of object libraries.
MyTraffic2006 - including military, airline, GA and even helicopters!
AI Smooth - helps cut down on AI congestion
Numerous AI aircraft with airport-appropriate flight plans - you'll see everything from 152s to V-tail bonanzas, biz jets, even 172s doing touch and goes on grass fields. AND - AI Blast makes them sound like the plane they're supposed to be!
FSNavigator - with accurate SIDs/STARs for many airports
Payware ADD-ON AIRCRAFT: (All have multiple freeware liveries and realistic avionics upgrades by RealityXP and SimFlyer)
Flight1 C310
Flight1 C172
FSD Navajo
FSD C337 Skymaster
FSD T-38
FSD C-17 Globemaster
Carenado V35B
Carenado C182 , C182 long-rage
Carenado C182RG
Carenado PA232 Dakota
Carenado Cherokee
Carenado C206 w/ expansion pack - cargo and float models
Flight1 C177 Cardinal, C177RG
Dreamfleet Beech Baron BE58
Carenado T-34 Mentor
Eaglesoft Cessna Citation 550
...numerous freeware planes - but only ones that are well-made - virtual cockpits, accurate models, etc. A couple of examples are Milton Shupe's Commanders, Beech 18 and Spartan!
How does it "fly" ?
Do to years of painful "trial and error", reading articles and tweaking FS9.cfg - the sim will perform beautifully with full weather, AI traffic and sliders maxed on most.
Due to a tweak - the frames are locked at 25 and it will peg that at most phases of flight anywhere. It will rarely stutter unless you pan over DFW at rush hour and even then you can shoot the ILS smoothly.
ATC is much more accurate and knows the names of your planes and airports. You'll hear "Muskogee Traffic" instead of "Kilo Mike Kilo Oscar Traffic" - thanks to countless hours screwing with "editvoicepack".
You can navigate using real approach plates, even real sectionals. I would call this just short of flight training if the FAA approved it. In fact, there's already sectionals and TAC charts set up in the kneeboard!
There ya have it - there's gigs upon gigs and a few thousand dollars tied up in it.
Make offer and you pay shipping costs. I'm based in Los Angeles, verified on PayPal and have been on this forum for years. Send me a PM if you're interested.
**Ps - the system has dual 21" 1600x1200 monitors. They're stupid heavy but work great. You can have them free if you pay shipping but it may not be worth it to you due to weight.
Thanks :)
