I seem to recall that at one time I could re-create nice dawn/dusk skies in
fs95/98.. I do not seem to be able to do this in fs2000...am I right? or am I
doing something wrong? any help would be appreciated....Terry

Um...have you tried changing "time of day"? Works for me...and you can then
"iterate it" by just going back or forth an hour to get darker, lighter, etc.

Captain, it's good to see a post from you again. It has been a very long time.
I was wondering if you were still about or had been shipped out. Are you still
on active duty?
Best Regards,
Jesse

Jesse: G'day to you, too, mate. Out current "embarked" status onboard the
flagship (aircraft carrier to remain unnamed...) has significantly curtailed my

opportunities to participate in the site. Suffice it to say that the U.S. Navy

is alive and well, and yours truly as well. Can't discuss schedules of course,

but we're working up to be in the following waves for the global war on
terrorism. My biggest heartache at this point is that I've loaded FS2002 and
can't (yet) get it to work. I get the hourglass of death on a black screen,
and then have to reboot my computer. A problem for another forum, I imagine.

Most happy to see that all of the "old reliables" (a tribute to your
conviction..not your age...) have not yet abandoned this forum due to noses out

of joint or some of the other "stuff" I've seen on those few times I could log
on.

All the very best, Spike

Spike, sorry to learn you are having difficulties with FS2002. I am presuming
that you are using the Pro Version. I installed mine with absolutely no
problems and it worked right off the bat. I'm not sure what could cause your
problem, but one thing does come to mind. Make sure that you are not running
any applications in the back ground such as a utility, anti-virus program and
the like. Other than that, I am out of ideas. Perhaps Bob Fiedler or Don Moser
can come up with a suggestion or two.
Good Luck on the CV.

Jesse: My "best guess" (and I'm only guessing...) is that I don't have the
latest and greatest driver for my 3dfx Voodoo 3/2000 card. I seem to have the
most recent avail on the 3dfx site...so I dunno. Pretty frustrating. Yes, I
do have the Pro version. What I get is the opening splash screen (still
picture), then it goes to a black screen with a moveable cursor arrow...and
stays like that until I do a hard shutdown.
Thanks for asking. All the best, Spike

Hi Spike. There's a lot of thing's which can cause the problem. But how much
RAM does your machine have? The absolute minimum is 128 MB for FS2K2 - 256 MB
and up are to be preferred. What DirectX are you using. The newest is vers. 8.1

Has it ever been running? You might have a "sick" default scenery. If FS2K2 has
been working and you've saved a situation, you can force it to start with the
default Meigs scenery - i think it's done by pressing down the ALT-button while
clicking on the icon.

If you have never succeeded making it start - and you have the Train Simulator,
remove the last. Those two programs don't seem to love each other.
Tried it in the reverse order - and i never managed to start the train
simulator.

Otherwise goto the FSVC forum at http://www.fsgateway.com/default.asp (If you
haven't been there before you have to sign up - it's for free. You can do that
using this link: http://www.fsgateway.com/policy.asp?rname=Lars )
