Had to reformat my C Drive. I saved the file JAB2000.ZIP on my D Drive.
However, when I unzip it there are no instructions on installation. The ReadMe
file only addresses credits and the usual legal issues but no instructions.
There are 3 *.dll files and a *.exe file. But the exe file does not launch an
installation. I went over to the site (a french site) where I originally
obtained the file but I could not find it there anymore. I believe Jacky
Brouze, the author, no longer supports the file. In any case, does anyone know
if I have all the requisite files? Can anyone provide instructions on
installation. Thanks in advance.

that will do you any good. I can send it to you via e.mail

And it should work in fs2002 also. At least jab2000 does. All you have to do,
is go to File-->Parameters, and change it from reading fs2000 or fs98 at the
end of the string to read fs2002.
It's a little program that I just can't do without.

I'm showing a total of 131 files in my zip file of jab2000. What you need to
do, is make a new folder somewhere on your computer (make it convenient for
yourself), I just made a folder called JAB2000. Unzip everything into that new
folder. From there, you should have the little hangar ICON, which is the
executable. Either click on it from that folder, or make a shortcut and drag
it to your desktop. That's about all there is to it.

Make a folder under the FS2002 folder and expand the zip file there. Then you
should be able to execute the program with or without FS2002 being active.

Bob,
I think I have a corrupt Jab2000.zip file. I used the program a couple of
years with FS2000 and successfully used it with FS2002. When I knew I had to
reformat my c drive, I saved the zip file over to my D drive. When I unzip it,
and I tried it under FS2002, it has an executable file, but when I click on it
I get what appears to be a part of the program but its of no use. Then when I
close that "what ever it is" I get several error messages but it closes without
locking the system. I've restored everything else, Radar Contact,
FSNav, all my aircraft, scenery, etc., but can't get Jab2000 going on going.
Pity because it is one of the most useful programs around. Thanks for your
suggestion, I'm sure it would work if I had a good, complete file.

Just unzip the zip file to any folder (I use a temp. folder). the exe file then
starts Jab2000. There's no installation, as such.

Joe, in answer to your question, how big, I don't know the definitive answer,
but I've heard figures of 2 Mb bandied about. So far as the 98 patch is
concerned, though, I seem to remember someone sending me that patch one time. I
have recently sent the JAB2000 file which is almost 1 Mb. I can't see there
would be a limit, though, because I've downloaded, from FS, 8Mb, 11Mb and 13Mb
files, although with the 1st attempt with the 13Mb file it ground to a halt at
about 70%. The second time, though, it downloaded at the same speed as, say, a
1 Mb file.
I tried a 60Mb file once, though, and this just would not have it.
I don't know whether it's a different transfer system, downloading files from
web sites, to transferring via e-mail, which is what I assume you're doing.
Maybe someone can enlighten us both - BOB?

Allan
No Jim, you do not have enough files. I have JAB2000. send me an e-mail at
acro103010@aol.com if you still want it and I'll send it to you.

Allan
Allan........... Off topic a little......... How big of a file will AOL let you
upload and also download. I have a son that has FS98 and I'm trying to send him
the patch and it seemes that either he doesn't know where to look or it's not
getting there. He is using AOL as his IP.
Thanks
Joe W.
Thanks Allan. I also don't know how AOL marks an email message that has an
attached file. Outlook Exp has a little Paper clip like thing in the upper
right corner.
I trying to tell him how to do something that I, my self have never done. I
keep trying to get him away from AOL but he is as hardheaded as as his old man
is.
Thanks Again
Joe W.
Joe, going to send one to Jim, tonight (UK). I'll take note and let you know.
Allan
Ok....... Thanks Allan. It's kinda like trying to describe what a red waggon

Joe/Allan,
I am totally stumped. I acquired another copy of JAB2000.zip. The properties
appeared to be the same as the one I already have. I unzipped the new one into
FS2002. In FS2002 a folder was created titled jab2000. In that folder it
created 4 folders named: english; francais; fs2k; fs98 and 6 files named:
jab2000.exe; jab2000run.dll; Liez-moi.txt; readme.txt; Unzdll.dll; Zipdll.dll.
When I click on JAB2000.exe it launches a Window titled: (JAB2000 v2.0.2.35)
that has 3 tabs. The tabs are titled: folders; options; uninstall. I cannot
get anywhere with the tabs. When closing this window several error messages
are displayed as follows: (1) Violation d’acces a l’adresse BFF558C6 dans le
module ‘USER32.DLL’. Lecture de l’adresse 7F9D3554. (2) Repeats the first
error message (3) This program has performed an illegal operation and will be
shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor. (4) Repeats
the third error message. (5) Runtime error 216 at 000038FA. This is exactly
the same behavior as the original file I have. The readme file is no help. I
would think the *.dll files would need to be placed somewhere other that where
they are being placed by default. Before I reformatted my c drive I used the
program for a couple of years, but I cannot remember how I installed it. I’ve
been able to restore everything else. I hate to give up but don’t have a clue
what to try next. Appreciate all who’ve suggested fixes. If anyone has an
idea let me know and I’ll give it a try. Thanks again,

What is the overall file size of the Zip file that you were sent? It should be
about 922k. It sounds to me like you got only part of the files needed. My
zip file shows 131 files, and an unzipped size of 1.6+ megs. Contact me at
dkrobson1@attbi.com and I'll send it to you.

Jim, sorry, can't offer an explanation. There isn't an installation as such. I
unzipped to a temp folder and, as you said, it creates a JAB2000 folder. I
merely transferred this whole folder into FS2002, although I don't think it
matters where it goes.
Clicking the .exe files starts the program and immediately gives you an
aircraft listing (although the first time you start it you have to play around
with the path). The tabs are: File, Display, Language and ?
If you want my copy to try I'd be pleased to send it.

Joe, got it for you.
AOL lists the e-mails as folders that kinda look like envelopes, with an
address and a stamp on it. If it has and attachment it uses what appears to be
a miniture 3.5 inch floppy, partly hidden behind the envelope. Difficult to
describe, as you say, but if you imagine the floppy first then the envelope
over the top, offset by about 45 deg and covering about 80% of the floppy.
Do you want the jab2000 file? I'm totally confused between you and Jim, now.
If you have any further problems with describing the above I can either send
him an e-mail with an attachment or I can send you a screen pic.
Let me know.
And, on the subject of knowledge, do you know how to type a half, as a
fraction, i.e. 1/2, and also deg, as "o".

I'm not sure about the 1/2 code, but the ° symbol is made by having numlock on
and holding down the Alt key while pressing 0176 on the keypad. When the Alt
key is released, the symbol appears.
I have a book that has these codes in an apendix somewhere here, but the

web sites, to transferring via e-mail, which is what I assume you're doing.
Maybe someone can enlighten us both - BOB?
Allan
No Jim, you do not have enough files. I have JAB2000. send me an e-mail at
acro103010@aol.com if you still want it and I'll send it to you.

Allan........... Off topic a little......... How big of a file will AOL let you
upload and also download. I have a son that has FS98 and I'm trying to send him
the patch and it seemes that either he doesn't know where to look or it's not
getting there. He is using AOL as his IP.
Thanks

Thanks Allan. I also don't know how AOL marks an email message that has an
attached file. Outlook Exp has a little Paper clip like thing in the upper
right corner.
I trying to tell him how to do something that I, my self have never done. I
keep trying to get him away from AOL but he is as hardheaded as as his old man
is.
Thanks Again
Joe W.
Joe, going to send one to Jim, tonight (UK). I'll take note and let you know.
Allan
Ok....... Thanks Allan. It's kinda like trying to describe what a red waggon
look like to someone that hassn't seen one.
Joe W.
Regards,
Allan
Allan........ thanks, you answered my question.
No .....I used JAB 2000 in FS2000 but I have not Configgured it to do FS2k2.
Don't need it.
Thanks

I can't see there
would be a limit, though, because I've downloaded, from FS, 8Mb, 11Mb and 13Mb
files, although with the 1st attempt with the 13Mb file it ground to a halt at
about 70%. The second time, though, it downloaded at the same speed as, say, a
1 Mb file.

I'm not sure about the 1/2 code, but the ° symbol is made by having numlock on
and holding down the Alt key while pressing 0176 on the keypad. When the Alt
key is released, the symbol appears.
I have a book that has these codes in an apendix somewhere here, but the
2-hour limit doesn't let me look for it.
Found it!
Here are a few more:
Alt 156 £
Alt 155 ¢
Alt 172 ¼
Alt 171 ½
Alt 0174 ®
Alt 0177 ±
Alt 0178 ²
Alt 0179 ³
There are a lot more, but they aren't used very often.

Joe/Allan,
I am totally stumped.
Thanks again,
Jim W
Jim, sorry, can't offer an explanation. There isn't an installation as such. I
unzipped to a temp folder and, as you said, it creates a JAB2000 folder. I
merely transferred this whole folder into FS2002, although I don't think it
matters where it goes.
Clicking the .exe files starts the program and immediately gives you an
aircraft listing (although the first time you start it you have to play around
with the path). The tabs are: File, Display, Language and ?
If you want my copy to try I'd be pleased to send it.
Allan
Allan,
Got the file. Appears to be the same as I already have. Unzipped it and had
the same result I described above with exception that when closing, with your
file, I get no error messages.
I'm starting to believe that when I reformatted my C drive, I may have lost
something that JAB 2000 requires in order to run....may some sort of utility
file that underlies the file and that everyone else has. Otherwise I just
don't know. Appreciate all the help from everyone. If I stumble accross the
solution, I'll let you know.
