Is there any way I can adapt or convert a fs2000 aircraft so I can use it in
fs98? I'd like to have the Handley-Page 42. I tried substituting its model
folder into the fs98 DC-3 aircraft folder, but that didn't work. If I could get
it to work untextured, I could fix up [or re-do] the textures.

The short, succint answer is NO! Almost nothing is backward compatible (FS2K to
FS98 or FS2K2 to FS2K). You can go up but you can't go down!
