Initiallly had a problem with comsim causing my aircraft engine sounds to be
muffled and really poor in quality. Well solved that by installing upgraded
files for my Crystal card. Now I have a problem much worse.

Every time I hit the " E " key to start the engine, the whole thing freezes up
and you know what that means, turn the juice off and reboot the long and hard
way.

I didn't change a thing, just installed upgraded files. Doggone thing was
working fine before except for the terrible sound. Now it doesn"t work at all.

Really frustrating but I'm sure anyone reading this has experienced computer
frustration, especially when running new or relatively new Microsoft programs.

We are of course the Guiney pigs, whoops, I mean the beta testers for Bill.

I'll be scanning this forum for an answer to this dilema. If anyone can help,
please step forward and be counted. I think there are several others with the
same problems.

Thanks a bunch,

David,
Strange that I'm responding to your post.. I don't have CFS, and I don't have a
Crystal audio chip... HOWEVER, I've had some problems with my system over
the past week, and while perusing articles on Microsoft's support page, I ran
across an article that mentioned a problem with system hangs when using DirectX
and Crystal audio chips.. I just went to their site again to make sure I wasn't
remembering incorrectly. If you go to www.microsoft.com, then go to support
and search "support online" for article Q190060, it details the problems.
Apparently it has something to do with the midi driver or something. Hopefully
this will help you out!
