The problem I am having is that every once in a while my aircraft sounds are
severely contanimated in both FS98 and ComSim. It started happening right
after I downloaded the ComSim on my C drive. In order for me to clear this
problem up, I have to shut the computer down and reboot. I must do this every

almost every time I fly. My machine is a 233 IBM aptiva with an ATI 3D Rage
Pro card. I get an average of 23 fps with everything set to normal. My FS98
gives me 45 to 90+ depending on scenery area.

This Sim does have great scenery !!

Any ideas on the sound problems?

Thanks,
David

David,

I found that when running a plane with a "busy" cockpit, in other words, a
panel that has a lot of graphics, causes my sound to get a lot of static. I
also have to reboot to clear this up. One thing I did was make a backup of the
P51 panel and then edit the panel BMP using a good paint program. I then
removed the upper bracing of the cockpit leaving the lower panel alone. Doing
this also gives me better visibility. Save the BMP and try flying again. This
worked for me. I tried the help file and modified the .cfg file for the [sound]

change that they suggested and it didn't help. The only way i got the sound
better was to modify the panel. I have a Sound Blaster PCI64. I hope I
explained it good enough. If not let me know.
