Even well trimmed, I can't get it over 325mph at any altitude. Help?

You're probably seeing indicated airspeed which always reads slower than
what your true airspeed is.

If this is one of Alain L'Hommes's P-51's you need to use ADE to boost the
H.P. up where it belongs 1,800 HP. While your doing that if you move the main
gear forward 20 inches it will stop tipping onto its nose when you touch the
brakes.

Are you using 'true airspeed' or 'indicated airspeed'. If you are using
'indicated', you will not ever see 400 mph, unless in a dive...You must convert
it to True at high altitudes to realize that you are travelling over 400 mph!

Disagree. When I'm flying my ME-262 on Multiplay, I routinely see airspeeds
well into the 400s.....even over 500 knots once I get the fighter going flat
out on the deck.

By the way, the ME-262 is an awesome weapon. Used properly (high-speed passes
against your target, nail him with cannon fire, then keep on going till out of
his range, then circle back for another run), it is practically invincible.
Really shows what the Luftwaffe could have done if it had had enough of these
babies.

You can disagree if you want, however it is a fact that indicated airspeed is
much lower than true airspeed at higher altitudes. I can't find my P-51 manual
at the moment, but I'll give you some speed comparisons out of a P-38 manual.

10,000'- 420IAS = 480TAS

20,000'- 360IAS = 460TAS

30,000' - 290IAS = 440TAS

These speeds will vary with temp. & pressure

I'm not saying how correct MS Combat is. I have not checked that far into it.

I have SubLogic Plotter & Navigation tables card left over from ATP.
It has a IAS/TAS conversion factor table.

Altitude Conversion
Factor
0 1.00
5000 1.08
10000 1.17
15000 1.26
20000 1.37
25000 1.50
30000 1.64
35000 1.79
40000 2.02

Hope this helps! Bob F.
