Well Pete, what I thought were motherboard problems were actually
AGP card problems so I haven't had a chance to test a 3D card with
an AGP card yet. Good news is (and all of you interested might
want to hear this) that I was at Best Buy yesterday and they had
a $50 rebate stuck to the Monster II box. That was too sweet of a deal
to pass up so I went for it. Looking forward to getting my Viper 330
back on board and letting you know how things go! Should be a blast :-)

Aaron...I was in Best Buy today to pick up a Quantum 12GB HD for $199 (!!!!!!)
and saw a Monster 2 (8mb PCI) for $99. Almost choked. If I hadn't needed the
HD, I would have brought that puppy home. If you're like me, I shop for the
"open box" deals - can't be beat.

WOW, what a deal on the HD! That's not a bad price on that Monster II either.
I paid a little more for mine becuase it's the 12 MB version. And you're
right, those open box deals *can't* be beat. I look for 'em every time I
make a trip to Best Buy :-)

I have a 2x AGP video card and the MonsterII. No problems in any 3D programs
so far. I am also using the AMD K6-2 350 with 64 megs of RAM.

Mike,
I don't have CFS yet, but I'm still reading the board for fun.. I have a
question for you, though.. I'm also running an AMD K6-2 350, 64 RAM, and a
2x AGP card.. I'm wondering what card and what motherboard you are using?
I'm using the Canopus Spectra and a Shuttle HOT 591-P motherboard.. However
I have to clock my CPU DOWN to 333mhz (66mhz x 5) instead of running at
100mhz x 3.5 or I lock up in 3d mode.. I think it's a motherboard/bios issue
so I was just curious as to exactly which hardware you're using??
If you could post a reply or email me, I'd appreciate it!!

Mike,
I've had everything up and going for a week or two now, and needless to
say I've been impressed! Oddly enough, though the AGP card does better
with FS 98 than the Monster II. Happy simming!
