I've failed at each attempt converting aircraft with the CFS converter. Each
time receiving "conversion halted" error message.

When I've gotten this message using the FS98 converter, I've simply created
each aircraft folder (ie: model, texture, etc) under the name of the plane and
put each file manually into its place.

I tried the manual method with CFS, but the aircraft still do not show up
within the game as being available.

I would appreciate someone steering me in the right direction.

Thanks, RMP.

RMP, (whatever that stands for..) :)
OK, anyone else who know what they're doing might dissagree, But if you
want to convert aircraft INTO MS-CFS, You have to make sure ALL these Steps are
finished.

THE SUREFIRE STEPS TO A/C CONVERSION.

The Plane HAS to be EITHER FS98 or FS5. FS6/FS95 Planes WILL NOT WORK.

1: IF the plane is FS5, DON"T USE THE CFS Convertor. Download the FS98
Convertor, and run it Through that, setting it up with CFS as the FS98
Directory.

2: IF the Plane is ALREADY in FS98 Format, Just copy all the folders into the
CFS / Aircraft folder. Make SURE ALL the subdirectories are copied too!

3: - The hard Part - IF The planes are in Fs98 format, and now in the
cfs/aircraft folder, you HAVE to make SURE All the Files that CFS needs are
THERE!

C:\cfs\Aircraft\Yourplane - here, you should have; AIRCRAFT.CFG
Yourplane.AIR

you might want to ensure that the Aircraft.cfg file actaully refers to the
Yourplane.air file with the same name... (just check by opening the .cfg file
with notepad...)

C:\cfs\Aircraft\Yourplane\Model - Yourplane.MDL
Model.cfg

again, make sure the cfg file refers to the air file.. just in case...

C:\cfs\Aircraft\Yourplane\Panel - Panel.cfg

C:\cfs\Aircraft\Yourplane\Sound - Sound.cfg

C:\cfs\Aircraft\Yourplane\Texture - All the 0af 1af 2af etc. files

NOW, IF ANY OF THESE FILES ARE MISSING OR EVE SPELLED WRONG, NIETHER FS98 nor
CFS WILL DETECT YOUR PLANE. Rename any of the CFG Files to ensure correct
names, and MAKE SURE, THAT ALL THE DIRECTORIES EXIST...

I Know SOME A/C desingers who Distributed Zipped A/C and NEGLECT to add panel
and sound folders, because they did not make custom panel/sounds... although I
won't mention any names!!! ;)

If you STILL have any problems, just be more specific at the problem, and I'll
help!
