Hi all,
Just purchased CFS today and have installed it and it looks great. My
problem is that it says in the setting menu that my Sidewinder pro is not
connected. I go back to the desktop and the joystick is fine. I have gotten
it off the ground with keyboard and it was a blast.

Thanks much in advance
Randall T. Kinkor

Fixed my own problem. It was aproblem with the sound card.

What kind of problem was it---my Sidewinder sometimes has the same problem...?

I had to change this line to the CombatFS.cfg file [Sound]
Channels=1
SamplesPerSec=11025
This is also listed in the trouble shooting guide for Combat FS under the
joystick section. I have a Packard Bell and MS Techies told me it is a
with the sound card modem joystick port all in one can of worms from Packard
Bell. Hope this helps

Uh-oh, I don't have CFS yet (was sold out when I went to buy it today :( ),
but I *do* have the Sidewinder FF Pro. What's the problem? Hope it isn't a
big one!

Its a problem with my 8 bit sound card modem joyport all in one that
I got with this Packard bell. In the CombatFs.cfg file you have to add
these lines. [SOUND]
CHANNELS=1
SamplesPerSec=11025
I have had to add these to all the FS cfg because of my situation with
Sound card

Oh, ok. I used to have one of those sound cards too. Sounds like
I'm in the clear in that case! Thanks for the reply!

Same problem... and now Joystick doesnt work for Flightsim 98 either. Must be
a DirectX 6 problem. You can custom config a 4 button, 4 axis joystick that
will at least get you the throttle, joystick and hat buttons working.

If you find a solution, please email me also
