I'm concerned about purchasing CFS, I have a 166MMx with 32meg and 8mb Voodoo.
If anyone has experience with this size system and CFS I'm interested in some
feedback.

Olin, I ran the review test and evaluation using a P166Mhz with 64Mb ram andd
ATI TURBO PRO 3D card. Had no problems whatsoever.

Olin, I have a P133, 48MB RAM, 2MB monster 3D and doin' all right. A little
more sluggier that FS98 with frame rates from 10.7 to 16. You should do all
right, COMPARED to me. Happy Flying......RB..

I have a 166 with 32meg and 4mb Sierra Screamin 3D. I find that to get
acceptable frame rates in combat scenarios I have to turn off all of the detail
except for the aircraft textures and run in 640 X 480 resolution.

The game is great and I highly recommend it to anyone. The scenery is
beautiful but when your trying to shoot at another aircraft moving at 250 knots
those pauses can be pretty anoying, not to mention what they do to your aim. I
am going to upgrade my processor to 240MHZ as a short term solution. This can
be done for about $120 US from a respectable mail order magazine.

I find the detail and sounds in this sim to be exceptional. When I'm blasting
away at an Me 109 or Fw 190, I am reminded of the gun camera shots on "Wings"
on the Discovery Channel. I highly recommend CFS to you but if you want all
the bells and whistles you might want to think about upgrading your system.

Hope this helps,

Lewis

P.S. I am saving for my dream computer and should have enough buy the end of
next summer.

I have the same set up as you and aside from a very slow frame rate the game
works OK Jack

hey Olin
I have 200mmx with 32meg and 8meg voodoo and it works good the frame rates
suck!! if you are getting about 20-30fps expect about 5-9fps,mabe of you buy
another 32megs of ram it could help some.It is a scam to get every one to have
to get faster cpu's and new computers to really scream in this game!my friend
has a PII-400 and he can't figure what all the fuss is about the fps! but it
will work just fine on your computer and it is a kick ass game! and if you like
fs98 you will love CFS. the scenery looks amazing!looks beter than fs98.
can't wait until the next fs99 or whatever they will call it.
