I've been enjoying Flightsim.com for many months, I've got quite a few
downloads, and I have barely ran into any problems. But one thing - internet
downloads often are the causes of viruses. I like the idea of developing my own

aircraft so I don't have to run the risk with downloads. Now I understand that
many of these developers are a lot better than I will ever be, and I have found

some planes on here with better quality then the defaults. Can anyone tell me
just how to start developing a new plane? Maybe if I could find out how,I could

share some here. Chloebh

Well....first off your gonna need at least a couple of payware programs just
to get you started. And the ones you neeed will depend if you are buildin for
FS98 or FS2k or 2K2. If you are buildin for FS98 then you will need to purchase
Aircraft Factory 99 and Aircraft Animator, which can be found at Abacus. If you
are planing to build for Fs2K or FS2k2 you will need FSDS and Aircraft
Animator...again found at Abacus. As for the learning curve, both are gonna take
a little work and to really find out or get guidence I recommend you head over
to the design forum and check out the FAQ's and if needed give Felix's ear a
tug(tell him I told ya to:-)as he is without exception a carrier of knowledge.
You can also tug on the ears of Bob Seamen and most of the others over there as
they all are either excellent or better in building or fluffin up a plane.
You could even chew on Dennis's(enged) ear here for some input as to
buildin somethin that'll get into the air.

Hope this helps

Like other activities, it really boils down to choosing the correct
partner. I've been with this site since it opened and NEVER got a
virus.

You're more likely (90% more so) to get a virus checking your email
or using IRC.

You have to remember that all the major sites scan their files in some way or
another. They don't want viruses on their computers anymore than you do. Also
remember that a .zip file is 100% virus proof, it's the contents of the zip
file that are dangerous and most good (un)Zipping utilities allow virus
scanning of zipped files. When I was a lowly sysop in CNY I scanned all
my zip files and all the rejects were deleted. I know Nels does the
same thing.

Thanks!

Actually, there was a misunderstanding. My mom thought I was going all over the
web for those precious downloads, and that's why we posted that. Thanks anyway!

Thank goodness for Flightsim.com!

Your parents should have a list of all the websites you visit, wether you
are seven or seventeen. This is a great site for kids and parents too!
