Frame Rates

Greetings,

I'm running FS98, Cessna 150 by Chris Lampard w/ Stubbs panel, Jim Bosworth's
Michigan scenery set on Very Dense. Have an ATI Xpert 98 video card. I just
upgraded my RAM to 320Mb from 96Mb, Aptiva w/375 Mz processor. Getting about 25
FPS over the nose and 5 FPS when I view out the side or rear. These are the
same rates as I got when I had the 96Mb RAM in. Is there some trick to getting
FS98 to recognize the additional RAM? Some other reason I'm not seeing the
benefit of more RAM?

Why is it that my computer runs CFS2 in 3-d at really high resolution, but when
I do the same with FS98, it is like the plane moves, then stops, moves then
stops? It moves for about 3 seconds then will stop for about .25 seconds. It
is really annoying. How do I fix this? Is there a "minimum alowable frame
rate" toggle somewhere in the game's options or preferences menue? Thanks a
lot.
