Hello to all,

I would like to use the RealCRT Gauge for the panel b.777scee. I changed
therefore the panel.cfg of this panel. But the ARC and Rose don't fitt 100% in
the gauge of the B777. How can I redimension the above mentioned gauge. There
are some numbers in the pnl.cfg (i.e. 298, -55, 350. Think these numbers have
to do something with the dimensions and location of the gauge.

Thanks a lot for any assistance and best rgds.

Jorge

Hi !

Going from memory, the first value is the virtical allignment, the second the
horizontal, and the third is the size. You can use trial-and-error to get it
right, but you're much better off getting CfgEdit:

FS98 - FS98
FS98/FS2000/CFS CfgEdit
Name: cfgedit.exe Size: 2,712,647 Date: 01-09-2001 Downloads: 10330
FS98/FS2000/CFS CfgEdit v1.4. A WSYISYG panel editor for Microsoft Flight
Simulator 98, 2000 and Combat Flight Simulator with many unique features. Just
drag, drop and stretch your gauges and immediately see the result. No knowledge
of programming or panel.cfg syntax is required. By Ed Struzynski.

This really takes the hassle about resizing/replacing gauges, and is one of the
"must-have" applications.

Cheers,

You need to download CFG Edit from here at the site. It will allow you to
move and resize any gauge on any panel. And its free.

Alastair is right about CfgEdit, although personally I don,t use it, as I
prefer a different panel design utility. Given that, a little theory will be
handy, because sometimes you need to alter the position or size of a gauge just
a tad, and it is easier and more accurate to alter the panel.cfg file directly.
You are right when you say the numbers refer to the gauge location and size.
The first number is the "X" coordinate, and the bigger the number, the gauge
will move further to the right of the panel. The second is the "Y" coordinate,
and the bigger the number, the gauge will be placed nearer the bottom of the
panel. The intersection of these two coordinates determines the top left hand
corner of the gauge. It the first two numbers are, say, 10,10, the gauge will
be in the top left hand corner of the panel. If the numbers are, say, 950,950,
it will be placed in the bottom right hand corner. The third number determines
the size of the gauge. I believe it is usefull to know this, because sometimes
you may want to move a gauge for asthetic reasons, and to move it to the right
just a fraction, you will find it easier to change the "X" coordinate manually
from, say, 424 to 426, or its size from 106 to 109, rather than trying to
manipulate it with the mouse via the panel design utility. Good luck with
this, you will find panel design a whole new world.

You're close, the first value is the horizontal alignment - the distance from
the left hand edge of the bmp, the second is the vertical - the distance from
the top of the bmp, and the third is indeed the size.

Hello JAG,

Thanks for your tips. Finally I did discover it. So I changed these numbers
step by step until I got the right dimension and position. It was quit a little
bit of work but finally its looks good. So I did it the same way as you did.

Thanks very much for you help and have a eautiful day.
