Ok, here is the SIMPLE and free way to learn to navigate.
Download and install FSNavigator: Flight Planner v 3.00 ... 4.7MB

Once you have the program installed, you simply update the program's data base
to the FS98 game. All the airports, NDB, VOR and ILS are spotted on a complete
world map. You only have to zoom in to see the numbers of the closest NBD or
VOR to tune you radio to.
You can use the program to plan all you flights for point A to B. If you are
lost up in the skies and do not know where you are ... The program will even
spot you plane for you on the world map so you can see where you are and all
the airports near with their NAMES, so you know where you are.
I had the same problem you have until I installed this program. The trouble is
you don't have enough Navigation information. But once you have the program
you'll see ALL the Navigation towers in the real FS98 world and you will be
able to use them as the REAL pilots do.
Just put the ILS number into Nav1 on your radio
Put VORs into Nav2 or Nav1 on your radio
and put NDB into the ADF radio
That should get you going ....

PS ... everyone flying simulators nowadays uses this program or one like it to
fly with from point A to B. It's the only way short of buying 100's of costly
maps.
Is there anyone that knows of a simple, this is how you fly from airport A to
airport B site or explanation. Thanks Allastair, but that nav site you
mentioned reads like an FAA manual, I'm just wanting to fly from airport to
airport without getting lost. :P That site wants you to download a plane and
mess with panel files, etc....
I tune the Nav radio to the 110.50 or whatever the frequency is, and nothing
happens, I can get the morse code thing some times to sound off, but not
often...that is as far as I get..
I am looking for the simple type nav, nothing about radials or all that...just
the thing where you tune the frequency, the needle points there, and you fly
there...
