Just to point all of you in the right direction:
As far as I know the only free add-ons to FS4 are Sceneries, Aircraft and
Adventures. Please note the following:
-New sceneries are made with A&SD and SEE04
-New airplanes are provide with A&SD, SGA and AAF.
-A&SD allows to modify flight dinamics and proportions of the base plane.
-A&SD provide one of the two other panel for fs4: B747 (nice one)
-SGA provide the other new panel for fs4: A single prop panel with an
electronic ADI, AOA (angle-of-attack) indicator and other stuff (very nice one)
-AAF allows users to design/build new visual models of planes.
-Adventures are made with AAF.
-New (realistic) sounds are provided with AAF and SGA (as I remember they are
the same sounds), including text to speech communications.
-New hig res video drivers are provided with SGA.
-Airplanes and sceneries could be found in the file library on this site (do a
search with "FS4" as an argument)
A&SD meants Aircraft & Scenery Designer. By BAO/Microsoft
SGA meants Sound Graphics and Airplane upgrade. By Mallard Software ()
AAF meants Aircraft and Aventure Factory. By Mallard Software ()
SEE meants Scenery Enhancement Editor. By ?
Please note that all the software listed above was released comercially. It was
not freeware or shareware.
Hopes this help,
Alejandro.
HI Alejandro, I think that if you were to post Items like AAF,and any other
Comercial,Software, that you would probably be open to a copywrite lawsuite. I
think it is strictly taboo to do that, altho I think you can E-MAIL the files to
some one and they can download them. But to upload and post any comercial
software of any kind,I think is Strickly Prohibited by law. Just my thoughts,

Hi Ron, tanks a lot for your reply. I did send an email message to a list of
people I found on this forum regarding this post. I now agree with you on the
uploading issue. Here is the answer I got from Justin Travis about sending
email attachements:
"I called Microsoft about the copyright issues. They said the program isn't
supported at all so as long as it's not sold it's fine. Since Mallard software
doesn't exist anymore there's no problem there either".
I have you in my FS4 users list but I have trouble with your email address
(Ronald Vorak - Game gttr@aol.com). It is that an space in your email address?.
If so for some reason hotmail does not recognize it. Could you try to send me a
message to my email address in order to send you a reply?

I am very interested in contact you because you seem to be willing to help a
lot another FS4 users, and because you have a nice collection of old FS
software.
I expect to hear from you soon

That's probably correct, from a strictly legal point of view, but consider as
well that the age of these programs means that the only people who can claim to
suffer lost income due to our "piracy" are discount software vendors, and only
the fiew who have any copies of the software on hand. Considering that there's
probably little fs4 stuff that hasn't been sold by now, and that
software-resellers require the original packaging and included paerwork of the
software, the number of such vendors to be potentially injured, and the cost of
their injury is likely, and laughably low. Those with a legal
intellectual-property claim on the software have gone onto newer projects and
have practically disavowed any knowledge of fs older than fs5.1. Still, any
backlash will likely be directed at those who run flightsim.com, and we
wouldn't want to cause them any trouble now, would we?

I do agree with both, most with the last. Altough I will be very happy to make
sometime I bougth (but that I do not own), I first asked to verify if that was
possible.
And for sure I don΄t want to cause Nels and his team any trouble. I owe them a
lot.
