Straker Would it be posible to get file "simfsfs.fso" so i could convert
aircraft for fs5.1 ? I would appreciate it. Thanks Jerry email jmaier@juno.com
I looked on the disk with windows explorer..the install runs off of a .exe
file...this is not like the fs disks where you can finds the files...
when fsfs installs it adds panels with guages 2,3,4 jet and prop effects
so simfsfs.fso is more than one file....infact with the disk when installed
is about 5megs added to the fs5.1 file..mainly the ATC chews up the
space...
Ill look at fs5.1 with win explorer and see if there is just a file
called SIMFSFS.FSO

Update to FSFS.fso
The files with FSFS.FSO do not zip basically they lack the hidden files
that are used in the install....
Basically fsfs changes fs5.1 internally to update the whole package...
along with the upgrade there are alot of files wth fso...
I still recomend using fs98 with the fs5.1 converter ir going on the swap net
about $15 each
The FSFS I have is the origional BAO version it was a 2 disk set
one disk has FSFS with the ATC generator and flightplanner and planes the
second disk has the Scenery designer and object designer along
with scenery files and demos and fs5 upgrade to 5.1..
these are 2 seperate disks and one does not need the other to run...
along with 2 thick books that are in German/french and english..
the package was later on sold seperatly and the apollo version seems to be
more popular on the market.
the apollo versions were sold in seperate packages...one FSFS and the other
was the SOD...

Thanks for the info Pete. I have been playing around with fs5.1
again and just wanted a few more planes to fly but i have found several that
dont need converted. I have always had some kind of trouble with this version
sound, memory, video, mouse, joystick, if not one thing it was another. I
decided to get a used comp. and try to use fs5.1 again and again problems
joystick not working because it had usb port fs5.1 didn't recognize it, then
one day i downloaded a zip file from this sight "P210x.zip" then i installed
it, bam everything works, blew me away, fs5.1 runs with windows in background
so now i am enjoying fs5.1 again. This old comp. runs fs2k also, so i enjoy
all sims on this 300mhz comp. again thanks fellow simmer Jerry
