Could someone please explain how some developers are animating gear to
collapse when touching down at landing? I can create steerable nose gear,
so I understand the basics, but how do you assign touchdown movement in a
linear fashion, also I have SDL Edit so any info is appriciated! Thanks!
OK are you ready?
You need three sets of gear if the gear retracts.
One set for for use with AA. This set will be used for the animation sequence.
It must also be built as if the oleos are not compressed (still in the air).
You also need a motion sequnce that ends in 99. This will cause this set to
disappear when fully extended.
The next set is identical to the first set except you need to create a macro in
SDL Edit with the display conditions: gear extended and aircraft on ground is
NOT true.
The next set is built as if the AC is on the ground and the struts are
compressed. This would also use a macro with the conditions of: gear is down
and aircraft is on the ground.
